Jon Gosselin is lucky to be alive. The former reality TV star was hospitalized after he was bitten by a venomous spider while he was sleeping.
The 40-year-old ex-husband of reality star Kate Gosselin was bitten on his arm by a spider which crawled into his sleeping bag while he was in an Atlanta hotel, according to TMZ.

The spider left a fang but not a trace and Jonathan stayed in the hotel for a few days.
Sources told TMZ that police saw what looked like a spider crawling out of Jon’s room but they “took no action.”
Gosselin has not responded to CNN’s request for comment.

Jon and Kate Gosselin began a show called “Jon & Kate Plus 8” on TLC in 2007. The show, which featured the Gosselin family living under one roof, chronicles the private lives of the then-married couple and their eight children. The show has seen many ups and downs in the past six years.
In May 2010, TLC cut ties with the family after filming stopped to promote the sixth season of the show.
When the show was canceled, Kate was given an $831,000 settlement that included her $175,000-a-year salary and the rights to all future episodes of the show. Jon was paid nothing in the deal.
The couple divorced in 2009.
